National Construction Cost Centre (N3C)

A Malaysian initiative by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) to provide a centralized database of construction cost information. It offers data such as building materials prices, labor wage rates, and machinery hire rates, and also provides consultancy and advisory services related to construction costs.

Through the N3C platform, users can access a comprehensive database containing up-to-date information on building material prices, labour wage rates, and machinery hire rates, collected from various regions and verified by industry experts. This information helps contractors, developers, consultants, and policymakers make informed decisions when planning, budgeting, or evaluating construction projects.

In addition to cost data, N3C provides cost indices such as the Building Labour Cost Index (BLCI), Bulding Material Cost Index (BMCI), Building Cost Index (BCI) and Building Machinery & Equipment Cost Index (BMECI), which are essential indicators for tracking price movements in the construction industry. The platform also offers consultancy and advisory services, enabling stakeholders to analyse cost trends and forecast market fluctuations effectively.

By centralising and standardising construction cost data, N3C supports Malaysia’s efforts to improve cost efficiency, transparency, and competitiveness in the construction sector.
